Sodium hypochlorite is a light yellow or greenish liquid with a distinct chlorine smell. It is widely used as a disinfectant and bleaching agent. With strong oxidizing and bactericidal properties, it is commonly found in water treatment, cleaning products, and industrial sanitation.

• Use diluted with water depending on application
• For drinking water: typically 1–5 ppm available chlorine
• For surface disinfection: 0.1–0.5% solution
• Store in a cool, dry, and shaded place
• Avoid direct sunlight and heat

• Corrosive: avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing
• Do not mix with acids or ammonia – may release toxic chlorine gas
